Flies

Flies everywhere .

Wherever you go you cannot avoid them. Flies bother. You can put screens on the windows, spray with insecticides, use swath, but you only quiet down just for a little while … This annoying noise that does not let you calm down, work, eat … and this annoying tickle …

If we simulate flies with people ,we will see a lot in common!

Nobody would have believed it. And yet! A fly goes from impurities to food, from toilets to bedrooms, from one country to another using the means of transport just like a petty bourgeois. At many times, becoming the hero of a revolution.

He lifts his head and goes on until he gets “beaten” by someone in position of power with “pesticides” or with the “swath”. But he will have already bothered them. So we can all cause disturbance as insignificant as we could be to some people.

If we put humanitarian messages in the flies΄,DNA, the dirt they leave on the walls, on the windows and of course on all the people who have forgotten the meaning of being a human, they would , of course ,change the world for the better. This is a utopian idea that I try to express through this series of works.

CHANGING WORLD MAP

“CHANGING WORLD MAP”

Endless improvised trajectories in everchanging formations and visual impressions. Maps and cosmic energy in action. Perpetual movement and constant changes, in relation to human presence. This embodiment relates to a real map, with some refractions and differences in its composition

The composition changes each time, depending on its course, making the viewer immediate and effective of the action and the change. Trying to cause the viewer a sense of anxiety and concern for the future, it also causes unusual connotations. New forms and inner feelings are created which are activated by the presence and even by the slightest movement of the viewer. Through a distorting mirror, appears the image of the sociopolitical reality.

From prehistoric times until today, people have never stopped moving from region to region and from continent to continent, forming new frontiers and new worlds. With these changes however different civilizations and cultures are transferred. So not only borders are changed but our. socio-cultural map too.

However these changes transfer different civilizations and cultures. So not only borders change but the socio-cultural map as well.

In this section of my works, I try to show the perpetual motion of the world, of nature, of life.as well as the harmony of opposites, which is directly linked with movement.

In this project the sculpture itself does not move. I have connected two identical surfaces upside down and so I have a convex and a concave surface. In this way the convex surface shows the projection of the viewer’s reflection and the space in which it is moving, but at the same time, the concave surface , shows the projection of the viewer’s reflection and the space in which it is moving , in reverse.

This project is closely connected with city people and their environment. The intermediate space created, resembles a void ,receiving new information.

You are attracted inside it , while everything changes instantly ,appearing, disappearing, turning

In this space there is room in which the bourgeois wants to be safe and secure. When someone feels safe ,he creates and he evolves.
